I’ve been drawing since I was around the age of 4 and have been doing 3d modeling since I was 10. It’s actually a funny story. One day, when I was really young (around 9 or 10) I saw my dad 3d modeling a helicopter on his computer. He trained as a comic artist so he was already the greatest artist ever in my eyes, but when I saw that helicopter, I couldn’t fully comprehend what he was doing. So I asked him “ hey dad, did you make that helicopter?” My dad responds “yes I did.” I ask him if he drew it in the computer and he tells me not quite. I proceed to say “ well whatever it is I wand learn how to do that right now!” My dad says “alright.” He then takes me to the living room where there’s a second computer for my brother and I to use. He installs some software called Light Wave 3D and pulls up a tutorial for it. Once that was done, he said “Watch this” and then left the room. So that’s what I did. Since then I’ve learned a multitude of digital software, including but not limited to:BlenderMayaZBrush PhotoshopUnreal EngineClip StudioCharacter CreatorAnd a few othersI started a YouTube channel teaching people how to use Blender to create digital characters when I was around 15, graduated college with a bachelors of art and animation. Pretty much immediately after college I got hired at Haptix Studios as a Motion Capture Technician, which eventually evolved to character artist once more clients came in. I’ve been with the company since late 2020. My responsibilities include:Character designProp designCharacter modeling/sculptingProp modeling/sculptingTexturing Rigging and Weight Painting Implementing Cloth PhysicsOn and off motion capture actorKeep in mind that I am the only character artist on my team. I do everything listed above by myself (minus the motion capture acting)My strengths are in character design (drawing), character modeling/sculpting, texturing, and weight painting. I also have skills in animation in both 2D and 3D. I’m looking to expand my skills in character art to create cool looking, highly detailed characters for both games and movies.   I am the character designer at our studio. Meaning I create the concepts, models, textures, and rigs for every character we make. I make sure the character can be used in Blender, Motion Builder, and Unreal Engine. I've been working professionally for over 3 years, but before that I worked as a contractor.
