I also took on a managerial role at the Montreal location as the principal investigator opened a laboratory abroad. During this period I built and maintained a cloud server by which experimental data could be shared securely across both locations, put into place project management protocols to ensure that student deadlines and milestones were being met in a timely manner, and managed an undergraduate student to keep track of laboratory inventory and purchasing.As a graduate student I was part of a large international collaborative effort to study the effects of simulated space flight on humans. In addition to work related to my thesis I initiated an independent study, in partnership with The Mars Society of Canada, to study simulated Mars habitation in a desert facility. I was an active science advocate, volunteering as the National Point of Contact for Canada in the Space Generation Advisory Council of the United Nations.
