A few years ago, I returned to NY from Afghanistan and other exotic locales where I worked as a socio-cultural field analyst in support of the US Army; my mission was to convey the perspective of the population to US commanders in order to affect a positive relationship between the local people and the Army. In many ways, the work I have done in the field of corporate intelligence and security since then echoes that task.
