The Center for Contemplative Research (CCR) is a nonprofit religious organization that provides the training and ideal environment for full-time, dedicated contemplatives to engage in long-term meditation retreats and collaborate in rigorous research with leading scientists and philosophers from a variety of fields, including physics, neuroscience, psychology, and phenomenology.We believe that the root causes of the world’s most pressing challenges are unhealthy minds that yield destructive behavior, including corruption, violence, environmental degradation, and social oppression. And we believe that these global problems can be solved if and only if we fathom the nature and potentials of consciousness.

Mission StatementThe Office of Scholarly Communication (OSC) is responsible for the institutional repository, OPUS, the University open access Press, UTS ePRESS, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Data Archive, ATSIDA, and the University Copyright Office. The Office engages with over 2 million people annually through downloads of research outputs we publish, curate or disseminate, and use of our researcher and community programs.The mission of the OSC is guided by the UTS 2027 Strategy and Vision “to be a leading public university of technology recognised for our global impact.” More specifically, the OSC is committed to the University’s vision of delivering positive social change through the dissemination of knowledge and the advancement of Indigenous knowledge through the professional curation and care of Indigenous research. UTS, its Library and the OSC also endeavor to support and develop researchers to use technology responsibly for the good of society and we are committed to ensuring UTS research is globally visible, recognised and accessed.Through this vision and strategy the OSC aims to be of maximum benefit to: 1. the communities that funded/supported the research; 2. the careers of the researcher(s) who produced it, and; 3. the University that enabled it. The direct consequence of this work is greater engagement with, and impact of, this research for the benefit of these stakeholders and the broader global community.
