Throughout my life, I've explored many different hobbies and interests. From playing sports and learning to play guitar to building PCs and playing video games, I realized that there was a common thread which ran through all of them - problem solving. The goalie is left-handed and favors the right side of the goal. How do I get past him? These chords are hard to play on the guitar. What can I do to improve my coordination while building the needed strength to make those shapes? The problem solving aspect is what intrigued me the most about the activities that I felt the most passion for. This, coupled with my love for technology, led me to pursue a degree in Computer Science.During my time at Cal Poly Pomona, I was exposed to different programming languages, data structures, algorithms... the list goes on and on! With every new subject came new ways to problem solve, and I began to realize that with these tools, the only limitation to solving real-world problems through software was my own creativity. Moving on to industry, the Quality Assurance roles I've taken on have given me insight into how others approach problems with the code they write and helped to expand that creativity. Being a part of the SDLC in an Agile (Scrum) environment allowed me to observe how developers tackle issues or new features and how they go about collaborating with one another on projects to create more robust solutions.Although there's still much for me to learn, I believe my experience in QA has helped me to become a more well-rounded developer.
