As a producer, I took long form videos from pitch to publication, typically pinning a large story to something relevant in the news cycle. Research incorporated open source research materials, academic scholarship, interviews with experts, on the street coverage, and other sources. I wrote multiple drafts of voiceover scripts with feedback from colleagues, fine-tuning it before recording. My role also meant gathering assets for on-screen display, paying attention to copyright restrictions; assets also meant suggesting and coordinating with the graphic design team to provide timely requests for graphics ranging from aesthetically pleasing graphs, all the way to moving timelines that anchored the video. I successfully directed, wrote, and produced 14 videos that garnered ~6.5 million views on YouTube. My interview guests ranged from historian to black market cannabis grower, and former Department of Homeland Security bureaucrat to country musician.

I wrote and researched for the Philip DeFranco Show, a five-days per week YouTube news show which works to distill the news cycle into a digestible show, typically ranging from 12 minutes to 25 minutes in length and frequently gaining more than a million views per video. The process began with a morning pitch to decide what stories would be tackled, and divvied up. Research and writing a script for Philip was typically expected on a 2-2.5 hour turnaround, depending on the length of the story, which he would then record. The rest of the day was typically dedicated to rewrites, adding breaking news updates for stories that were continuously changing, suggesting edits to the script, and coordinating with editors to secure on-screen assets.

Taller San Jose Hope Builders, or Hope Builders for short, empowers disconnected young people who are in danger of not reaching their full potential, with the job training and life skills needed to move out of poverty and achieve enduring personal and professional success.My work as the Foundation Relations Specialist entailed all work related to grants: seeking appropriate funding opportunities, completing and submitting Letters of Inquiry (LOI) and proposals, communicating the terms of grant agreements with appropriate staff, reporting on the outcomes of grants as stipulated by foundations, and communicating the successes and refinements of Hope Builders' programs to the organization's supporters.

As an intern and part of the Living Monument project, I conducted online research on the war dead interred at the Luxembourg American Cemetery of World War Two. My research took me from online national archives to regimental and battalion websites published by veterans. My goal in finding information about each of these soldiers was to give personality and recognition to each of the many, seemingly unknown soldiers at the Luxembourg-American cemetery. My accumulated experience in this project forced me to rethink how to complete large data research projects and gave me new research techniques and databases.
