About Elaine Atherton

Energetic, impactful leader with 10+ years of demonstrated experience in nonprofit, teacher education, and K-12 and higher education. In my current and previous roles, I have led the development and implementation of organizational strategy, program innovation and expansion, and partnership cultivation with the goal of providing impactful learning experiences for children around the world. I am passionate about supporting the growth and development of educators and children as they use technology to express themselves, collaborate, and create. In my current role as Head of Programs, I lead Scratch Foundation's signature program, the Scratch Education Collaborative, and facilitate the planning and implementation of our learning resources and annual events for educators and Scratchers (Scratch Day and Scratch Conference!). My role also positions me to regularly partner with key internal and external stakeholders to leverage Scratch's network of partners, such as The LEGO Foundation, Google, Harvard Graduate School of Education, and NYC's CSforAll, and expand our reach and influence to create more pathways for children to become full and active contributors to tomorrow’s society.
