Responsibility for negotiating, drafting and managing contracts and liaising with owners, architects, subcontractors and other stakeholders led to my involvement in any legal matters arising on my projects. When I decided to go to law school, I was already working on corporate legal matters for Centex Corporation. I will always be indebted to Centex, not only for giving me the opportunity to rise to Lead Mechanical/Electrical Project Engineer and Project Manager, but also for moving my family to Virginia to work on a local project after I decided to attend law school at night in Washington DC. After completing law school, I worked in private practice, initially in construction and general corporate law and ultimately shifting to technology law and all of its many facets and applications. My strong innovative/entrepreneurial drive has led me to positions with pioneering companies where I could use my expertise to help to bring inventive ideas to fruition. Currently, as President (US) of Omina (an AI engineering firm), I manage a wide range of critical legal and operational matters and routinely collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to attain corporate objectives.I am proud to have been chosen for the Northern Virginia Technology Counsel’s Executive Circle based on my unique expertise in Artificial Intelligence and privacy laws and standards.
