Co-Founded Non Profit with my wife, Rhonda Davenport Johnson, to advance the cause of justice and secure human and civil rights for all who are denied human dignity, particularly those victimized by modern day slavery.

Managed the delivery of all legal services to a mega church with over 20,000 congregants. Range of duties included managing complex litigation, trademark issues, commercial issues, and legal advice to Elder Board and senior staff.

Founded and Directed the Graduate Program in Corporate Law and Finance. Taught Corporate Professional Responsibility, Global Public Company Law Practicum, Business Organizations and Slavery and Human Trafficking

• Led and managed the provision of all legal services to GM’s largest region covering the U.S., Canada and Mexico through a staff of 250 legal professionals (110 attorneys) and over 400 outside law firms • Counsel to the GM North American Strategy Board • Staff selected as a finalist in the 2008 American Lawyer Best Legal Department competition • Led Staff in consistently achieving reductions in outside counsel expenditures and headcount • Led Staff in significantly increasing billings with minority and women outside counsel • Championed numerous pro bono, diversity and community initiatives

Managed and coordinated finance, HR, IT, communications and other administrative operations of the Legal Staff globally

• Led and managed a 13 attorney practice area responsible for domestic commercial transactions, including M&A, real estate, purchasing, supplier bankruptcies and information technology (IT). • Continued to serve as GM’s lead IT attorney on a global basis. Led the negotiation of the $30 Billion IT contract between GM and EDS upon the EDS split-off from GM. • Devised and implemented an innovative standard contract structure to govern IT transactions with over 200 IT vendors.• Led the initiative that replaced 15 purchase orders with one global purchase order.

• Developed the Information Technology law practice on the GM Legal Staff.• Handled commercial law matters for the GM Powertrain Division

• Placed over 40 attorneys in law firm and in house counsel positions.
