The Digital Review of Asia Pacific (DIRAP) was launched in 2002 as a biennial printed publication that brought together writers from a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives to report on the state-of-practice and trends in information and communication technology for development (ICT4D) in the Asia Pacific. DIRAP contains country studies as well as thematic analyses that served as a comprehensive guide for ICT-related policy development, planning and project implementation in the region.After eight years and four issues of DIRAP (http://www.digital-review.org/), the Editorial Board of DIRAP believed that a more viable mode of producing and publishing DIRAP is required, and decided to test the open access, crowd-sourced model online. The e-DIRAP project (http://digitalreview.asia/) aims to transition DIRAP from a print publication into a sustainable collaboratively-produced online resource.e-DIRAP brings together a diversity of voices to report on the status and trends of ICT4D issues, and also tell their stories of ICT4D innovation and learning.
