Whilst working at Structerre Consulting Engineers. I have worked on pier andmainly waffle pod slab design and sometimes retaining wall inspection for several months, I have alsoworked on timber residential design. For the last six months, I joined the civil section and had been doing storm water/drainage design for small scale residential buildings.Prior to my Structerre experience, I finished a post-graduate (PhD) degree in Structural Engineering fromUniversity of Technology Sydney (UTS). I did my thesis on structures prone to Earthquakes. I didsimulations with MatLAB for a structure equipped with semi-active vibration control usingMagneto-Rheological (MR) dampers.In Iran, after finishing my four years under-graduate (Bachelors) degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Idid a two years post-graduate (Masters) degree in Earthquake Engineering from a reputable university inTehran. After that, I joined a consulting construction firm specializing in commercial concrete structuresfor a year. I did conventional reinforced concrete building analysis and design in ETABS, SAP 2000 andSAFE. I used in-house Excel spreadsheets and also undertook manual calculations and design and Iachieved competency in detailing. I also undertook post-tension concrete slab design for seven months with RAPT and RAM Concept. I did site inspections on a regular basis.In my free time, I enjoy bushwalking, going to the gym and swimming.
