My specialty is patent law, particularly patent solicitation and related counseling in the medical device field. I have over 35 years of experience in the patent law field. Initially, I worked as a Patent Examiner in the United States Patent And Trademark Office then moving to a clerkship at the predecessor to the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. For about ten years, I served as in-house patent counsel in a number of Exxon Corporation subsidiaries practicing patent law, general business law, technology licensing, and forming joint ventures. After a short time as a Chief Patent Counsel at a small chemical research company, I joined the law firm of Morrison & Foerster LLP in its Palo Alto office.
