Optimized energy consumption at the Pine Island dairy facility by developing preventative maintenance plans for air leaks and steam traps. Implemented plans saved the facility $6,000/year in electrical and natural gas costs. Collaborated with reliability engineers, utility management, and maintenance to establish and share best practices across various dairy facilities. Conducted cost analysis of various maintenance schedules to provide the Pine Island facility with the cheapest, most feasible, and most energy-saving maintenance plans. Took ownership in learning the technical workings of steam traps to challenge the correct size & function.

Worked in the R&D Automotive & Aerospace Solutions Division by formulating various exterior films with isocyanates and polyols aiming to reduce aircraft drag. Films were cured in an oven, pressed, and tested in soaks, humidity chambers, and applied UV radiation. Results were recorded and organized in a running Excel spreadsheet. Intensively worked with machines including the heat press, autoclave, and microscopic equipment.

Learned customer service and multitasking skills by taking orders and running food/beverages, seating guests, managing waitlists, and answering the phone. Improved human communication and leadership skills while training new employees.

Enhanced programming skills under Dr. Kevin Dorfman and Dr. Runfang Mao to computationally run simulations of DNA knot movement using polymer physics to develop knot trajectory plots. The research was self-led by organizing and managing other work schedules.
