Entering the Cloudcroft Fire Department as a Junior Firefighter, Erich progressed quickly through the ranks and by the time he was 18, he had completed his Firefighter 1, Firefighter 2 and EMT-B certifications. He continued intensive training, receiving numerous additional certifications and licenses, and was rewarded by being appointed the Training Officer position in 199. Beginning as a Snowmobile guide/mechanic and a safety technician, I was asked to serve as the General Manager of this seasonal, winter recreation facility. We increased our snowmobiling fleet by 80%, doubled our lift capacity, designed and installed state of the art snow making capability and provided snow grooming capabilities to both the snowmobile trails as well as the snowtubing slopes.
