After leaving Government Signature Solutions in January of 2010 I redirected my focus and energy into developing E3s, Llc, which I began in 2008. I have been active in freelancing for close acquaintances and serving the open source community on GitHub and kenai.com. The tool also provided the user the ability to decorate the the translated text with other asci data and integrate with existing code using the java reflection api. Provided enhancements to code and implemented suggested improvements.Followed agile process methodology. Participated in Scrum meeting minutes.Worked on troubleshooting and resolution of production issues: debugged and resolved a number of programming challenges. Assisted the team efforts in System, Regression Testing. I supported an EIS Functional Lead on a DIA contract. The NextGen project was run in an agile process with 25 day sprint cycles and daily standup meetings. Several screens were mocked up in JavaScript as a proof of concept and to negotiate simpler designs among stakeholders. I redesigned a quarter of the original screens to reduce the number of mouse clicks and overall organization of the look and feel.

Greater Pittsburgh Area

Worked here as a contractor in IT Support for Highmark’s Actuarial department. Duties include: developing enhancements to existing java codes, troubleshooting/debugging, j-unit testing and documentation of the detailed design and test plan. Work was done on-site and under the direction of the customer from supplying requirements to the review of the code and through customer acceptance test, which it passed. Work completed was checked into Harvest and the details documented with the original Change Request. The core solution provided involved: coordination of threads within a JEE framework; JSF; use of Java Script to manipulate the DOM; and Multi-level joins on Oracle tables. Core Java and JEE using JSF, ant, JUnit, RAD, WebSphere 7 and Oracle.

Built 82 custom junits to boundary test their plugin-designed, java based xslt code developed to meet new LDS mandates data quality/integrity requirements. Maintenance on existing code base and development of new lds screens for prototype purposes.

CSC contract with CBP PSPO GOES Project. Initial phases of revamp of GOES and GES an online JEE project. Used JQuery, CSS, Java and HTML.

I supported Lockheed Martin IS&GS in the development/production of the SENTINEL case management system. Supported system operation and maintenance and provided technical support for web service and system to system communication. I also supported testing with the use of JUnits and the IBM Rational SOA Performance test tool. The team environment consisted of daily scrum meetings reflecting the status of current JAVA development work. Code that I developed followed standard gang of four design patterns and incorporated creative uses of object oriented design and programming practices. The best trait I bring to the programming team is can-win attitude with a balance of creative programming solutions with a watchful eye for details and programming gotchas.Environment: JDK1.5, WID 5.0, J2EE, JUnit framework, ANT, ClearQuest, ClearCase.

Created and maintained system vision and captured evolutionary priorities:The development of the desktop application utilized my skills in the following areas: Worked on troubleshooting and resolution of production issues. Provided programming support for the U.S. Army's Research, Development, & Engineering Command (RDECOM) on a Phase II Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) project. Duties included: Web Application prototyping utilizing skills learned from previous projects desktop Application development using swing and swingml. ANTLR development to convert C header files to xsd. Technical proposal writing for new SBIR work. Mentored College Graduate Trained other technical members on the usage of RMI and EJBs. I supported a logistics project known as TC-AIMS II (Transportation Coordinators Automated Information for Movement Systems). TC-AIMS II has since been grouped into the TIS (Transportation Information Systems) project. I supported Block 2 maintenance work, developed code for Block 3, and added functionality for Blocks 3 and 4.Duties included: Wrote Critical Design Documents for the Map Graphics piece of Block 3. Provided continual development effort in J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition). Worked with a suite of tools for xml parsing and generation, Development of Java Server Pages (JSPs), and of Enterprise Java Beans (EJBs), Testing and integration of a system of systems involving 3rd party software and vendors Communication among multiple companies, Successful design and collaboration among each of the involved parties Also wrote Java code for a couple of Java Applets. Used several design patterns: Data Access Objects (DAOs), and singletons (to name a few). Used EJBs to create entity beans to persist objects to a Sybase database Used DAOs to retrieve a set of primary keys for objects that needed to be looked up via EJBs. Provided support to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) project for about a year. Our team was given high-level functional requirements. The project enhanced my skills in the following areas: Java 2 Standard Edition (J2SE). Used Sun One Studio to build graphical user interfaces (GUIs) Worked on Use case realization and dependency diagrams. CodeGuide as a primary IDE for developing algorithms.
