I was just happy to be in a professional position, something to get my foot in the door and help me learn, signing up to get beaten up every single day for what felt like years. This experience, while arguably brief, has led to some of my best customer relationship building skills and was what forced me to be a fierce and productive negotiator. This place budded the dream for me, this place introduced me to a whole new world of opportunities for a kid just trying to figure out life (and having a hard time doing so). I keep this on my profile to remind me of every single step I’ve had the great pleasure of taking on my journey. It’s here to show everybody else that as long as you’re willing to stick with it, that as long as you’re willing to keep standing right back up after continuous failure, you‘ll get what you want out of your career. But, more importantly, your life. 99% of people give up after failure, which is heartbreaking to me, but that means that for the ones who stick it out, the ones who see it through, will benefit greatly by their unwillingness or inability to give up. This job, at this car dealership in very rural Temple, TX, lit a fire deep in my soul that burns just as hot today as it did almost a decade ago. This job that I got fired from, that pushed me miles out of my comfort zone, is what I credit my entire career to. This is here to remind me of that.
