Highlights include: conducted a router configuration audit on 300+ routers for a large data processing firm; planned a comprehensive infrastructure assessment for an international pharmaceutical company; provided ongoing design, configuration and other support services for a 600+ site regional banking corporation in the context of a merger; helped to define and launch a new consultative services department within AlphaNet; played lead role in AlphaNet’s achievement of Cisco Silver Certified Partner status; and, acted as key liaison for the company within Cisco’s Channel Partner program.

Provided technical engineering services to enterprise clients. Highlights include: participated in a team responsible for a multi-site new technology deployment for a nationwide education provider, including ground-up development of IP architecture (renumbering planning and address allocation, DNS naming, site planning, procedures development, equipment recommendations, configuration and installation, etc.); and, planned the relocation of all centralized server resources for a major international bank, including server consolidation, rack planning, power and environmentals planning.

Assisted in ramping up Cisco technology expertise in Operations and Engineering departments which were previously Nortel technology-based, provided technical leadership in troubleshooting highly redundant worldwide data network, managed trading shift of Network Operations and co-managed all other shifts (total of 23 staff + 9 consultants), and provided planning and technical support during Y2K preparation.

Highlights include: performed design and third level technical support services for a 14 month contract in a large, diverse, international networking environment; established ground-up network connectivity for an internet publishing start-up; led teams of 3-10 engineers and performed project management for overlapping, mixed discipline projects; and, played lead role in Netera’s achievement of Cisco Silver Certified Partner status. Participated in President’s Technical Advisory Council from its inception, and elected as “Network Wizard” by management – only engineer to be so recognized.

Supported all regional data communications infrastructure, involving mixed AS/400, PC/server and mainframe environments. Designed and developed several database applications in MS Access, providing sales force automation functions (sales budgeting and reporting, activity tracking, prospect management) and performed ongoing technical support for sales force. Also installed corporate PC software solutions in customer environments, allowing for increased sales and decreased cost per order.

Lead all SNA network-related issues for 27 VTAM hosts (VM and MVS) and 117 NCP subareas. Solely supported several systems enterprise-wide, including Relay/3270, X.25 NPSI, NTO and EP. Primary manager of 50,000+ terminal SNA worldwide network and 9,000+ user dial-in environment. Provided documentation and training to other departments. Codeveloped a sales agent automation dial-in application.Lead design and support efforts for then emerging network technologies around 200+ router infrastructure supporting TCP/IP, NetBIOS/NetBEUI, Novell NetWare, AppleTalk, DECnet and SNA.

Supported 1.2+ TB MVS DASD complex. Created JCL and REXX scripts to completely automate most job functions and eliminated the need for one human operator. Also developed a DASD usage projection system to simplify DASD inventory management. Pioneered use of several technologies within environment, including IBM 3990/3390, HDS 7890, STK silos and DMS/OS management software.
