PhD graduate student in the Boettcher and D.W. Johnson Groups at the University of Oregon studying inorganic materials chemistry. My thesis research is focused on improving current understanding of solution-processed metal oxide thin film formation chemistry, which includes utilizing and adapting new types of thin-film characterization techniques not yet widely used in the field. I have extensive knowledge of and hands-on experience with many compositional, structural, and morphological characterization techniques for nanomaterials. My research is supported by the NSF Center for Sustainable Materials Chemistry (CSMC). As a member of the CSMC, I work in a highly collaborative research environment with professors, post docs, and graduate students spanning 20 research groups at 8 universities around the U.S. I have experience managing and participating in large, collaborative research teams as a member of the CSMC.

During my internship at Micron, I worked on two main projects to characterize properties important to CVD/ALD-grown titanium nitride (TiN) thin film development for DRAM electrode applications. At the end of my internship, I gave an oral presentation to the thin films group that summarized my results and I made recommendations for which methods provide the most reliable, reproducible and accurate results.1) Contributed to project aimed at benchmarking new, inline characterization methods for evaluating TiN film continuity -Compiled/analyzed results from multiple surface and electrical characterization techniques (TOF-SIMS, XRF, ellipsometry, XRR, SEM, XPS, Rs)- Contributed to data set that will be used to transfer continuity testing to inline characterization (no wafer scrapping)2) Lead research project to characterize TiN work function -Collected, analyzed, and compared data sets for three methods used to measure work function (MOSFET, Kelvin probe microscopy, Ultraviolet spectroscopy)-Resolved previous discrepancies in work function trends by comparing data produced by two corroborative techniques

Student researcher in the physical chemistry laboratory of Prof. Giovanni Meloni (May 2013-May 2014). Under his mentorship, I performed computational studies (Gaussian09) on the energetic stabilities of theoretically-discovered oxide and phosphide derivatives of lithium fluoride superalkali cluster species.

As a student assistant to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, I performed standard office duties (filing paperwork, updating and organizing online database for paperwork, answering phones, etc.). I also developed many interpersonal skills (verbal communication, problem solving, time management, etc.) while meeting the needs of both faculty and students.
