Adamfo Ghana is an official Dutch foundation that works for the well being and protection of street children and vulnerable youth in Ghana. We cooperate with local partners in Kumasi, the second biggest city in Ghana by raising funds to support scholarships programmes, projects and other initiatives aimed at giving a chance to vulnerable children and youth. I teach on a range of undergraduate modules in Tourism and Research Methods across first to final year classes. I am a module leader on the second year (Level 5) Tour Operations Management and the third year (Level 6) Digital Economy and Digital Cultures modules. In addition, I co-teach on the following modules: first year (Level 4) Investigating the Experience Economy and Principles of Tourism Management; second year (Level 5) Cultural Heritage and Attractions Management; third year (Level 6) Destination Management, and Social and Political Perspectives on Tourism. I am also a Dissertation Supervisor for 8 students on both the BA International Tourism Management and BA Events Management programmes. As the Year Two (Level 5) Personal Tutor I provide general and specific pastoral care to students.

My versatility in teaching has been shown through delivering 2-hour teaching seminars three times a week for 3 groups of a total of 50 students on a Human Resource Management module. My teaching groups were second year (level 5) Tourism Management students. Key responsibilities included:- planning and delivering seminars- marking, assessment and feedback on two pieces of coursework- general pastoral support and care for students.In addition to giving guest lectures on the Tourism and Development module (Level 5), I also served as the Postgraduate Dissertation Supervisor for 4 Postgraduate students who researched on topics in tourism destination development and management.

Under the Realising Opportunities programme which is a widening participation initiative targetted at students from demographic groups less represented in university. Usually students on this programme are the first in their nuclear and extended family to attend university. Under this programme I tutored two Y12 students in completing a 2000-words essay helping them with essay structures, referencing and plagiarism.

Achieve More: the State of Sheffield Challenge is an ambitious programme that is designed to give all first year students in the Faculty of Social Science an insight into what it means to be a social scientist and the nature of research. Groups of 7/8 students from different disciplines decide on a research topic within a larger theme and are then to carry out fieldwork to produce a final report, presentation and artefact. My role as a facilitator is to:- support and monitor students during the crucial one week intensive period, - assess their progress - provide feedback on their efforts.

As a GTA, I assisted with the delivery of seminars on Research Methods for MA students and on Urban Design Process for undergraduates.

I was a part of the research team that crowd-sourced questions from around the world oninternational development issues. These questions (704 questions in the first instance) were then collated, streamlined and finally voted down to 100 key questions during a two day workshop. A working paper and a journal article in the Development Policy Review journal are the two key outputs from this project.

I was involved in policy research on the European Union’s Cohesion Policy. In particular Iwas responsible for assessing the proposals of the Cohesion Policy for the 2014-2020programming period. My research briefs highlighted the key changes that were going to takeplace in comparison to the policy of the 2007-2013 programming period especially in termsof the financial instruments available to achieve the objectives of the policy.

As a GTA, I was responsible for preparing and delivering tutorial classes and seminars for undergraduates on the Social Structure of Modern Ghana module (2nd year students); Organisational Behaviour module (3rd year students) and Human Resource Management module (4th year students).

I worked as a team member of a trans-disciplinary and multicultural Ghanaian and Dutch students in undertaking a three-month community based research on the challenges of peri-urbanism and changing livelihoods in Kumasi, Ghana. This involved data collection, community presentations and a final project report.

I volunteer at my alma mata for a term during my summer holidays as a Geography subject teacher with responsibilities for:- Teaching topics in Human Geography, Physical and Environmental Geography and Introduction to Map Work· Assessing students through examinations and practical projects
