I'm Eamon Fitzgerald, a passionate and driven professional with a PhD in Neuroscience and extensive post-doctoral research experience. My journey in academia has equipped me with a deep understanding of the neuroscience, where I have published 10 first author peer-reviewed articles.My research has been driven by a desire to understand the neuroscience behind behaviours, particularly emotional behaviours and disorders, such as depression. In my PhD at the University of Edinburgh I used a variety of wet-lab methods, before transitioning to a computational approach during my postdoctoral fellowship at McGill University since 2020. My computational analyses have spanned a broad range of methodologies encompassing complex bioinformatics in R, and machine learning approaches using Python. I am lucky to have been afforded a leadership role in many of the projects I've undertaken, including multiple large international collaborations. My philosophy in these projects has always been to ask simple, refined questions, then find the data and analyses methods best suited to answering these questions.
