Clinical Service and Consultancy. The Clinical Nurse / Midwife Consultant provides expert clinical advice to patients, carers and other health care professionals within a defined specialty. The Clinical Nurse / Midwife Consultant develops, facilitates implementation and evaluates care management plans for patients with complex health needs. The role also involves the organisation and delivery of specialist consultant service.On completion of an undergraduate Bsc degree in Nursing at QMU in 2009, Eamonn began working in General Surgery at the New Royal Infirmary Edinburgh. He soon after joined the Scottish Liver Transplant team also caring for renal transplant patients. Critical care skills were obtained from working in the specialised High dependency unit for transplant patients. In 2012, Eamonn moved to Australia to bring his expert skills and knowledge of transplant nursing to work as a senior Registered Nurse in the NSW leading transplant unit at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. Éamonn was successful in attaining the position of Clinical Nurse Consultant and then following Liver Transplant Coordinator for NSW and ACT in 2016. Part of this role is to liaise and work closely with the other Organ Tissue Donation transplant centers around Australia, New Zealand and Noumea for receiving, communicating and interpreting key issues from donor offers made for urgent interstate abdominal organ transplantation. He has since acquired Australian Citizenship while already holding dual citizenship for the Republic of Ireland and the United State of America.
