• Acted as the deputy to the organisation’s Care Quality Commission (CQC) Nominated Individual, ensuring compliance with key regulatory requirements. • Managed the Risk & Governance Committee, ensuring all necessary papers and agenda items were prepared accordingly. • Managed a governance team of 5 members and led governance link practitioners across a range of business areas within the organisation.

• Chair of the weekly Governance meeting. Adjusted the meeting agenda to ensure optimal engagement from meeting stakeholders and provision of assurance to senior team.• Facilitated Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and supported investigators with report writing and action planning. • Built a governance framework for managing incidents across organisations during the COVID 19 pandemic as part of the NHS urgent elective procedures contract.

• Responsible for the management and leadership of all activities related to Governance, Quality and Risk Management.• Designed learning outcomes newsletter template and Governance initiatives such as “NEWS2: Spot the Mistakes” for implementation across all Spires nationally.

• Undertook and wrote Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigation reports to inform the Legal Team’s response to external complaints.

• Generated an increase in near miss and adverse event reporting through promotion of safety culture, through workshops and hospital media.• Linked the risk assessment process to business impact analyses, as part of the business continuity planning process, supporting alignment to ISO22301.• Acted as interim chair of the Health & Safety committee and led the annual two-day Health & Safety audit in conjunction with the organisation’s retained Health & Safety Consultant.• Evolved the execution of the incident review meeting group by improving the meeting design to accommodate the company and national patient safety agenda.
