Hello! My name is Eamonn Powers, I’m the Director of Services Training Development at Cirrus and a PhD in Instructional Design and Technology from the Darden School of Education at Old Dominion. Somehow, I also hold an ATP, A&P, a CFI, and a few type ratings. While I used to fly and fix airplanes for a living, my professional life has evolved a bit. The primary focus of my current work is the design of technical training products for pilots and mechanics in the aerospace industry. This involves systematic considerations at an architectural level, as well as, specific content and aesthetic considerations at the individual deliverable level. In my academic pursuits, I’m interested in finding ways that immersive media might improve training transfer into real life skill sets, as such I’d consider myself fluent in the language of VR/MR/XR, game-based learning, and immersive data analytics. In truth, I don’t really like the 'about me' types of posts, so let’s try this. What people might say about me:+ Great dude to work for+ It’s obvious he really cares about what he’s doing+ Guy can write fast+ Avid whiteboard enthusiast+ Runs a lot+ Decorates his office pretty nice+ Healthy love of Star Wars
