Project based work where I have been involved in design and requirement management for propulsion equipment on trains. The first few years as a mechanical design engineer and in the more recent years as technical project manager. The customers have been based in various countries but mainly in China, France, Germany and in the UK. As design engineer I was responsible for designing, dimensioning and integrating electrical equipment in cabinets, which I also designed and dimensioned. Much time as technical project manager is spent coaching the engineering team and communicating with the customer. All of my abilities have been put to the test during my years at Bombardier; with stress resistance, organisational skills and team work being the three most tested abilities.

Localized at the company’s site in China I was responsible for the transfer of technology for the mechanical design department from the engineering site in Sweden to the engineering site in China. I taught a team of six engineers the expectations on design quality within the company as they were taking over the responsibility of design and maintenance for the Chinese vehicles from the Swedish site. Communication was of outermost importance, together with thoroughness and sensitivity for the colleagues’ progress. After this assignment I returned to my previous appointment in Sweden.

During my employment at Etteplan I was assigned to Bombardier Transportation as a design engineer. My tasks were mainly integration and dimensioning of mechanical and electrical equipment. I was primarily located in a prototyping line where quick decisions were needed. The main abilities tested during this employment were team work and the ability to take responsibility over my own work since I had no manager present at the customer’s office.

My tasks were solely to assemble gearboxes for lorries and buses. The biggest issue to deal with in this job was stress management without dropping in quality as there were many steps to go through and remember when building a gearbox. From August 2003 to April 2008 this was a part-time job during my university studies.

I was responsible for tests in the material test laboratory at ABB. Customers specified the tests and I performed the tests and wrote test reports. I was filling in for an employee that was on long-term sick leave. When he returned my employment ended. Quality and consistency were the main focuses to fulfil the customer’s wishes and demands. No test could fail due to handling errors by the personnel at the laboratory.
