CurrentI am a partner in the Baker & Mckenzie Tokyo office practicing in the areas of Renewable Energy, Convential Power Projects, Mining and Oil & Gas. I assist Japanese companies to invest overseas and, since the 2012 changes to Japan's renewable energy laws I have worked with numerous foreign renewable energy companies to invest in Japanese renewable energy projects. The work has included project acquisition and development, EPC and project financing work. With the upcoming introduction of Japan's new general waters laws we are also now increasingly busy advising foreign companies seeking to invest in offshore wind projects in Japan. I previously worked in the Baker & McKenzie Bangkok and Sydney offices. I have a degree in the Thai language from the Australian National University and speak and read the Thai language. During my time in Sydney I was seconded to work as in house counsel for a leading Japanese trading house and whilst working here in Tokyo I was seconded to work at a major Japanese electricity utility.
