In my capacity as Country Head of a Japanese DMC subsidiary for Flight Centre Travel Group, I was entrusted with the overall management of inbound travel to Japan from Australia, the UK and the US. My remit included the purchasing of hotel accommodations and other travel products.

In my role as Acting Director at the Japan Sales Office of the UK-based travel and leisure group Travcorp, I was responsible for the overall management of the European inbound hotel accommodation purchasing, sales and operations. Additionally, I was engaged in marketing for Japan inbound.

My experience included business development for Japanese inbound travel, acting as an executive assistant to a General Manager, hotel accommodation purchasing, and marketing and sales of Australia for Japan. My approach was to capitalise upon the development and management of an extranet system to sell products for B2B and B2C.

We provided travel suppliers with a comprehensive range of marketing consultancy services for the Japanese travel business in Australia. Our expertise included the involvement of one of the first online travel agencies (OTAs) in Japan, the coordination of a joint venture for a travel auction site, and the publication of travel brochures and websites.

Sales & marketing for the largest Japanese travel company, JTB and its group companies

Overall management of the division, including HR for a team of over 240 staff, with responsibility for both B2C customer service and B2B customer success. This also included several project management roles, including the import of 200 expatriates, the establishment of an alliance business and a business unit for tours and activities, customisation of new tour operation systems, operations, troubleshooting and QA.
