I was bitten at an early age.By the travel bug, that is. It crawled into my childhood during our family vacations and has yet to leave, leading me to explore 30 other countries and 24 US states--and counting! In addition to wanderlust, this bug has left the side effect of an unrelenting curiosity of other cultures, countries, cuisines, and a desire to promote intercultural understanding. Working in my alma mater's international center allowed me to leverage this passion, especially as the Student Manager of International Campus Programming when my team and I tripled the attendance rate of our weekly lunch program from the previous year. My favorite moments of these programs were seeing the pride on the international students' faces after they presented the customs and food of their home countries, along with the gratitude they showed for having the opportunity to share their love for their unique cultures. The world is the best teacher and I have learned many lessons from my travels and experiences, including how to handle challenges, communicate interculturally, and to never be afraid to ask for help. Over the years I have been fortunate to work in a variety of positions which has given me an array of skills and an ability to learn new things quickly. Colleagues and friends know me as reliable, patient, trustworthy, efficient, and open-minded. In addition to having exceptional organizational abilities, I take pride in being an excellent listener with strong interpersonal and group skills, though I am equally comfortable working solo.I graduated magna cum laude from Berea College with a BA in communications and a minor in business administration. I aim to find a career in the travel or international education industry in order to continuously promote my love for the world and the people who make it so diverse. Maybe they will catch the bug, too.
