About Eric Richard

Eric Richard graduated (DVM) in 2005 from the University of Liège (Belgium), and then underwent an Internship at the University of Montréal (Saint-Hyacinthe, QC, Canada). After a Sports Medicine Residency at the CIRALE (Goustranville, France), he defended his PhD at the University of Liège (Belgium) in late 2009. Dr Richard is now Head of Unit (Clinical Biology) & Senior Researcher (Inflammation & Immunity) at LABÉO (Caen, France). He obtained early 2017 the accreditation to supervise research (HDR) from the University of Caen Normandie (France), and also became ‘ECEIM Associate Member’ in 2021. The main areas of expertise and interest are “Equine asthma” as well as “early biomarkers” of equine diseases. Beside the scientific and professional life, Eric has also been a Show Jumping rider at international level for over 10 years.
