Manager-Facility Systems
CurrentResponsible for supervising subordinate personnel and contract activity to perform a variety of engineering and administrative functions that ensure that major systems such as HVAC, HVAC controls, Electrical Power and Lighting, Generators and UPS systems, compressed air systems, fire alarm and fire suppression systems, etc. - are operational, well maintained and that replacements are scheduled and planned and approved through the budgeting processes. Conduct/coordinate detailed phases of engineering work and design as needed for both minor and major projects and oversee related construction. Work across departmental lines to assist other CU departments with projects related to areas of responsibility. Implement and oversee preventive maintenance programs for facility systems throughout the organization and oversee the preparation of contract documents, evaluate bids and contract change orders. • Upgraded HVAC control systems to direct digital control in selected facilities, and added building control systems at other sites networked to the corporate BCS. Installed a chilled water system replacing need for millions of gallons of ground-sourced cooling water at power plant. Installed HVAC system customized for archival document storage. • Added or improved fire protection systems at several company locations and networked systems to interface with the central fire control system and the Security Office. Also, directed the installation of gaseous suppression systems in sensitive locations to protect critical data and control systems including within an underground facility. • Replaced lighting systems with more efficient fixtures and lamps and upgraded hot water heating systems with high efficiency boilers. Assisted with security systems installations company-wide and aided in the expansion of other departments’ operations. • Manage electrical systems upgrades and installation of charging services to new buses entering our electric bus fleet.
