Internal Auditor enhance and protect the university's value by providing stakeholders with risk-based, objective and reliable, assurance, advice, and insight. To assist NCCU to accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.Our work is conducted and managed in accordance with The Institute of Internal Auditors' (IIA's) International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditors, which include the core principles for the professional practice of internal auditing, the definition of internal auditing, Code of Ethics, and the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards). In order to fully comply with the Standards, our office must have a quality assurance and improvement program that includes both internal and external assessments. The most recent external assessment of our office occurred in August 2018, and we received the highest possible rating overall and in each separately assessed category.Internal Audit Office reports functionally to the Audit, Finance and Facilities Committee of NCCU Board of Trustees and administratively to the Chancellor. In keeping with the IIA's Standards, we maintain a strong working relationship with the Audit Committee.

Internal Auditor mission is to support the University in the successful achievement of its strategic goals. This is accomplished by serving as an independent partner to University leadership, faculty, and staff in the identification and balancing of their units’ risks through objective, flexible, and proactive audit and consultation services. To provide an independent evaluation of the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes and makes recommendations for improvement. All internal audit activity must be free from undue influence or interference in the selection of activities to be examined, determination of the scope or methodology of work, and in the communication of the results in accordance with the international standards of independence as set forth by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). The integrity of internal auditors establishes trust and thus provides the basis for reliance on their judgment.Internal Auditor scope of work includes assessing whether:Risks are appropriately identified and managed across the UniversityUniversity governance processes support the organization’s strategies and objectivesFinancial, process, and information technology controls are effective and efficientPolicies, regulations, rules, and other guidance and training are consistent in their information, effective, and do not create undue bureaucracy or inefficienciesUniversity units are compliant to University, UNC-System Office, State, and Federal requirements, related processes are administered correctly, and issues are recognized and addressed properly and promptlySignificant financial, managerial, and operating information is accurate, reliable, secure, and timelyActions of University personnel are in compliance with policies and applicable laws and regulationsUniversity resources are acquired economically, used efficiently, and adequately protectedQuality and continuous improvement are fostered in the University’s processes
Assistant Director Of Admissions Recruitment
Served as a Manager for the Office of Admissions with direct supervision of the Recruitment arm of the Admission office and charged with evaluating students, maintaining the intellectual standards of the university, fulfilling the institutional strategic plan, budgeting, recruitment, retention, development of students and maintaining collaboration with faculty within the different schools.
