I started working at a small weekly newspaper in Oregon at the age of ten, around 1972, as my Father and Mother were Publishers. It is here that I found I have Printer's Ink in my Blood! After college, 1985 I landed a job as News Director in radio in a small Southern Oregon market, then off to Mt. Bachelor Ski Area by day, and Country Western DJ by night (graveyard). My next venture climbing my own media ladder was Hawaii (to take care of elderly Great Aunt) and Advertising Agency Receptionist position, Honolulu, then offered a better opportunity with more pay in Waikiki as Account Coordinator. Next destination - Seattle, Wash., 1987 - Starbuck's split their Retail and Wholesale Division - Caravali Coffee's, Ltd. - I was a receptionist promoted to Inside Sales where I sold coffee, tea and chocolate worldwide - I landed Mrs. Field's Cookies Acct., into Macey's San Francisco, Calif. for Caravali, then laid off. The Fearey Group PR Agency took little time to snag me. I didn't sit idle for long. In the middle of moving offices from Bellevue to downtown Seattle, I streamlined new office media contact and client lists, and portfolio filing system for agency. I wrote and produced most new client presentations, and wrote articles for placement for President and Vice President. KBLE-AM 1150, Seattle hired me as Public Affairs Director, Traffic Director and Public Service Director...Small Station, Many Hats. (I finally burst into the confident media specialist that I am today and earned my right. (met my USMC Military Officer Husband - moved to San Diego, worked at KPRZ-AM 1210, on air board operator and Public Service Announcer 1990 - 1995. and the next best thing to working in fast-paced media is being a proud mom , so I chose staying home to raise my son, Bradford. He is now 22-years-old and recent Graduate, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, 2015. Yes, I took a break, and yes, I am back in the game. Loyally, Earlene (er-leen)
