Earl's Workshop is the Artful practice of Architecture & Urban Design and his mission is to craft well integrated places where people love to be. Over the past 20+ years, his work has focused on the design of new cities and districts in developing countries, the revitalization of post-industrial and design of new waterfronts, the creation of mixed-use transit-oriented developments, improving downtown business districts and streetscapes, and elevating the identity and quality of life at college and corporate campuses. After Superstorm Sandy, Earl was one of the leaders that helped shape today's industry focused on resilient design. His integrated approach to the design of architecture, infrastructure, and the public realm stresses the value of creating beauty in functional solutions to development in the face of climate change and sea level rise. At a time of great challenges due to the global pandemic, a heightened awareness of racial injustice, and widening gaps in socio-economic strata, Earl is mindful of his workshop's responsibility to maintain an agile role in creating positive change in the world.

PrincipalEarl Jackson Architecture Workshop Dec 2016 - PresentNew York City, The Jersey Shore, & South FloridaThe Architecture Workshop is the artful professional practice of Architecture & Urban Design. It was founded by Earl Jackson and is driven by lessons learned from more than 20 years of experience, 16 of which were spent with Michael Graves, Skidmore Owings & Merrill, and Cooper Robertson. While the work of the practice may appear radically diverse, its core principles are grounded in climate & culturally sensitive design, creating a meaningful experience of place, and the honest use of materials. Our work is always local. Whether that locale is our hometown or yours, we take the time to immerse ourselves in the physical and social contexts of our projects to ensure that our designs are authentically native. -

Design Director, PartnerCooper, Robertson & Partners Aug 2011 - Dec 2016New York, New YorkEarl's work while Design Director and Partner at Cooper Robertson included leading the competition winning design for MGM's Las Vegas Boulevard Streetscape and Park Master Plan, the competition winning design for Lower Manhattan's Holiday Light, the design of the Vision Plan for the Campbell Soup Company's Gateway District (now Knight's Crossing), and the design of Coral Gables' downtown streetscapes on both Miracle Mile and Giralda Plaza. He led the designs for coastal resilience projects such as Mayor Bloomberg's Special Initiative for Rebuilding and Resiliency, HUD Secretary Donovan's Rebuild By Design, and served as subject matter expert for the Rockefeller Foundation's 100 Resilient Cities. In his time with Cooper Robertson, he helped rebuild and restructure their urban design practice by winning new work and hiring more than 20 talented young urban designers and architects to work on relevant projects. He re-started and managed the firm's internship program, initiated a series of monthly round table events that helped keep the firm current in the market place, and gave birth to a series of gallery events that broadened the spectrum of work that staff shared with each other and the firm's clients and collaborators. Before leaving the firm, he helped lead the firm's effort to rebrand their identity and helped the firm move their office from midtown to the financial district. -
