I have completed the Ph.D. in Engineering Physics attached to the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2020 under the title “Investigation and Analysis of Low Voltage Power System (LVPS) Transients in Sri Lanka”. Also, I have done my Masters in the field of Applied Electronics attached to the University of Colombo which was later completed at the University of Turku, Finland under the European Union’s “Erasmus Mundus External corporation window (EURECA)” scholarship in 2009. I have completed my bachelor's at the University of Colombo in the Physical Science Stream. Currently, I am serving for Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC), Sri Lanka, as a Senior Lecturer cum Program Head, to the Faculty of Engineering and Technology since 2018, involving various academic, research, and administrative activities. Before SLTC, I served for the CINEC Campus, Sri Lanka as a Senior Lecturer as well as Course coordinator in the marine engineering department for 7 years. At the same time, I have experience in vocational education, having taught courses for City and Guilds (UK) for Graduate, Post-Graduate, and Advanced Diploma levels.My research mainly focuses on the investigation and analysis of Low Voltage Power System (LVPS) transients due to internal and external factors. The voltage instabilities, mainly due to switching, load changes were studied in different specific environments as domestic units, different types of automobiles, and industrial sites. Margins of my current research expand up to frequency domain analysis too where a major part of the analysis is done in the time domain. Spotlighting the attention to the importance of modern low voltage power systems’ electrical purity with novel electrical utilities adopted in different specific environments was also sought in the studies.● Probe the transient effects on low voltage specific environments/ extract major transient parameters.● Transient voltage instabilities of passenger automobiles and their impact on DC-DC converters in BEVs.● Analysis of capacitor bank failures in factories and design novel techniques for smooth engagement.● Studying the Importance of power quality in LVPSs in Insulation breakdown through measurements.● Soft/ smooth starting techniques for industrial induction motors, furnaces, etc.
