Gnss Firmware Engineer
CurrentAs a member of the GNSS Measurement Engine (ME) Firmware Team, I am responsible for the development and optimization of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and microcontroller (MCU) infrastructure firmware for resource-constrained microcontroller environments. My key responsibilities include:• Baseband DSP Algorithm Integration: Collaboration with algorithm teams for the integration and optimization of baseband DSP algorithms into the GNSS ME firmware, ensuring efficient performance within low-power, resource-constrained environments.• Firmware Driver Development: Design and implementation of firmware drivers to manage communication between processors and control peripheral devices in embedded systems, requiring expertise in embedded C/C++ programming, microprocessor architecture, and hardware abstraction.• Unit Testing: Development of unit tests using Google Test, adhering to test-driven development (TDD) practices, to ensure firmware robustness and reliable performance across various scenarios.• Requirements Definition: Defining precise requirements for new software features and modules while contributing to the overall system architecture for scalability and efficiency.• Collaboration with Product Software Teams: Close collaboration with product software teams to deliver system-level APIs and ensure firmware alignment with specific product requirements.• Support for Validation and Test Teams: Assisting validation and test teams by troubleshooting issues, providing insights, and ensuring optimal firmware performance throughout various testing phases.• Root-Cause Analysis: Performing root-cause analysis to investigate firmware crashes and performance issues, utilizing debuggers, crash dumps, and log analysis to identify and resolve stability problems.• Tool Development: Development of internal tools for monitoring power consumption, analyzing CPU load, and automating crash dump analysis, improving efficiency within the GNSS firmware team.
