🙋‍♀️ Hi, I am Elena, a futurist and political scientist working in things related to futures, participatory processes and social transformation. I am a vigilant optimist and a rigorous thinker deeply invested in helping organisations and communities adapt to new realities, mitigate the impacts of potential adversity, and navigate and lead change to create better realities for tomorrow. I enjoy working in teams and with people from diverse identities, backgrounds and paths of life; all in near perfect German, English, Catalan and Spanish, and with a healthy dose of humour ;) In 2020, I co-founded Futures Probes, a collective of academically-trained futurists which aims to spread the word on futures thinking and provide support to organisations in understanding, harnessing and accelerating social transformation(s). As a team, we are proud of having developed a work ethos characterised by approaching challenges in a playful and experimental way without losing sight of academic rigour and professionalism. As an individual, this is the most challenging, exciting and arduous adventure I have ever committed myself to – and I wouldn’t change a thing. Things I do: • Design and facilitate interactive, hands-on workshop formats• Develop, implement and manage projects built around applied futures studies and strategic foresight• Coordinate and facilitate participatory stakeholder processes• Research and write about future-relevant topics• Design and conceptualise media publications, from articles and social media publications to interactive exhibitions• Speak at public or private events, in radio, podcast or tv formats – explaining or inspiring on all things ✨futures✨and social transformation Topics I’m particularly interested in: participation processes for climate action and innovation for democracy, resilient cities and (desirable) futures of tourism.
