As a resident advisor for University Housing, my key role is to insure the integration of first year students to college life, both socially and academically. To do so I work closely with a team of 5 resident advisors and 1 residence life coordinator to host and evaluate programs for 248 first year students that are relevant, engaging and educational. I have also developed many skills and have fine-tuned my communication skills, both interpersonal and team based, through my responsibilities and activities. I constantly have to strategically resolve conflicts between residents using my communication skills while still build a trustworthy community among the residence hall. Lastly, I perform some administrative tasks including incident reports, room condition reports, and maintenance requests.
