Hello! I'm Emily, and in the simplest terms, I'm a story-teller. Early in my career, I focused on telling those stories with words. As time passed, however, I discovered my real passion extended far beyond that. As a creative leader with a background in journalism, I have always approached design pragmatically. What is the story we're trying to tell? And to whom are we telling it? Good design can't begin without answering those questions. And it can't thrive without solid, foundational knowledge. Hierarchy, balance, contrast, harmony — these are not subjective terms in design. A great design has them, a bad design does notMy approach to design has always set me apart from my peers. Eager to collaborate and accepting of criticism, I thrive in an environment that is always looking toward optimization. An environment where exploring new ideas and technologies is not considering "going above and beyond" — it's the norm. As a leader, I build successful teams based on the belief that one must lead by example. I get my hands dirty, even when I might be bogged down in administrative duties.
