Contract part time position responsible for resolving data integrity issues for data interfaces to the Epic Clinical Data Repository (CDR).

Managed and provided software application support and training for financial and healthcare specific applications. Managed IS staff and department budget. • Analyzed software and made improvements to meet business needs. • Resolved EDI Billing un-billed claim problem eliminating annual loss of $117,000. • Implemented HL7 interface for ADT between practice management/EMR system and triage system. Worked with vendors for both systems for configuration and testing. • Managed relationships with vendors for software and Corporate IT for hardware and telephones resulting in improved support and minimal down time to patient services and business operations. • Ensured IS processes and procedures met all HIPAA requirements and implementation deadlines.

Staffed and supervised the MIS department. Responsible for support of all financial systems, a document imaging and work flow system, and electronic data interchange between PCA and providers. • Managed local programmers, computer operations, network and application support staff. • Communicated with Corporate MIS on software problems and priorities to address issues for the Texas Plan. Interpreted user requests for technical staff to ensure results met user needs. • Identified the need to plan AS/400 hardware upgrades to ensure that the system met projected growth. Eliminated issue of down-time for yearly major hardware upgrades.

Provided analysis and project management on the Medicaid Managed Care pilot program in Travis County. PCA provided the HMO option for this pilot program. • Designed, tested and implemented interfaces for data exchange for eligibility and claims between PCA, Texas Department of Health, and Medicaid contractor, NHIC. • Assisted users in writing program change requests to ensure optimum solutions. • Communicated with Corporate MIS programming staff for interface programming and problem resolution.
