Chevron EMC – As a scientist for AECOM Environment, I have worked primarily in oil and gas site remediation. I am responsible for oversight of field crew functioning as the site safety officer. Managing subcontractors and documenting field and safety observations for the project manager. Classify soil and complete sampling for lab analysis. Perform low flow groundwater sampling as well as stream sampling. Manage waste and ensuring proper disposal of onsite waste. Aid in setup and management of projects as well as assisting in project manager’s compliance with ISO Quality Management Systems. Montebello, CA –I was a field personnel for a year of site assessment and remediation system install on various sites. Managed subcontractors performing well installation and sampled every five feet to properly delineate contamination plume. Ensured use of intrinsically safe devices and proper grounding of equipment due to flash flame risk. Shaftner, CA – Acted as site safety officer for well installation for future SVE system install. Subcontractors were required to wear Level B PPE and perform all tasks in supplied air. The site safety officer was charged with ensuring proper decontamination zone upwind, enforce railroad safety training with all subcontractors, assess and monitor heart rates of subcontractors due to the nature of supplied air work during summer as well as providing boring logs.

As a farm intern I did everything, seeding, planting, watering, harvesting. I was there during winter and was a part of a season extension program in high tunnels. I aided in harvesting crops and selling them at a local farmers market.

During this summer internship I was primarily led groups in the removal and monitoring of the Asian Clam infestation located at Lake George. GIS was utilized to locate monitoring points and infestation locations. I also educated the public on the North Eastern invasive species, and monitored wetlands restoration.
