I work at Redfish Creative (www.redfishcreative.com), a cool multimedia and creative firm I founded where I concentrate on our consulting and advisory group, creative strategy and content, forming strategies for clients, interviewing, writing articles, and publishing on several publications and blogs. I frequently write for financial type publications on technology, investment opportunities, biotech and bio pharmaceuticals. I'm highly interested in startup firms, scaling existing companies and products, and turning around existing firms who need help and perhaps have lost their way. I also work as an artist and designer, creating large-scale paintings, designing and building unique, minimalist furniture. My company brand is eastmantribe (www.eastmantribe.com). It is a relatively new brand and is just beginning to grow. I plan on adding retooled clothing in the new year as well. Outside of eastmantribe, I exhibit as an artist as well, now focusing on large scale installations, writing pieces and spoken narratives, sculptural installations. A new site featuring this type of work (www.johneastmanstudios.com) is underway.I started in 1985 as a computer industry consultant, PC-Network engineer, gravitated to software development, then content via web. I've done stints at large law firms, FDIC, Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS), large banking institutions, and small business firms. I've been an exhibiting artist since 2002, starting off as abstract painter, exhibiting in galleries and museums. Note: A laughable element of my life is my poor sense of direction, a causality if you will, of being a true right-left brain person.
