Serve as IT Security subject matter expert (SME) in the planning, design, and implementation of technical, operational, and administrative IT Security controls. Participate in the creation of enterprise security documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures) under the direction of the IT Security Manager. Maintain up-to-date, detailed knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and the identification and resolution of vulnerabilities and threat vectors. Provide recommendations for additional security solutions and enhancements to existing security solutions. Deploy, integrate and configure new security solutions and enhancements to existing security solutions. Maintain operational configurations of all in-place security solutions as per any established baselines. Monitor all in-place security solutions for efficient and appropriate operations. Review logs and reports of all in-place devices, whether they be under direct control (i.e., security tools) or not (i.e., workstations, servers, network devices, etc.). Interpret the implications of that activity and devise plans for appropriate resolution. Participate on Security Incident Response Team (SIRT) in the identification, containment, eradication, and resolution of security issues. Participate in the design and execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and security audits.

The Enterprise SharePoint Development Team is responsible for the customization, extension, and support of Chevron Phillips Chemical's web-based Internet, intranet, and extranet SharePoint systems. Support and maintain existing SharePoint implementations and customizations. Exploit built-in functionality to meet business needs. Create new SharePoint customizations as required.

Developed and supported applications used throughout the enterprise, including Environmental Health Safety, Finance, Human Resources, Legal, and Manufacturing. Many projects involved migrating existing in house applications up to modern technologies as well as extending functionality, while other projects involved new development. Some of the applications that I’ve had the most impact on include Performance Management, Time Management, SpecWeb, and Annual Representation Letter. Client: Proctor & GambleIndustry: Consumer ProductsHigh profile project to re-platform disparate P&G brand web sites to a common platform. Public facing web sites included rougemag.com and homemadesimple.com. This new platform was constructed using a foundation of SharePoint and Commerce Server. Initial role was SharePoint developer on the reference application team which was the first to migrate several brands onto the new platform. In later phases I worked to help implement FAST based search functionality and Commerce Server based profile management. Client: HalliburtonIndustry: EnergyThis project involved the creation a new set of field service applications to drive operational efficiency and business intelligence. The HDBS application provided the ability to synchronize data from instances in the field with centralized databases. One of my key responsibilities on the project was to abstract the data objects from the databases using the Entity Framework.Client: Targa ResourcesIndustry: Energy / Energy TradingDeveloped a solution to automate previously manual processes performed by business auditors to improve efficiency and add traceability. The solution was implemented as an ASP.NET web application and provided control over data workflows of billing information from line of business databases into PeopleSoft. My second project was a solution that monitored real-time electronic exchanges of securities transactions initiated by internal traders on a market operated by the Intercontinental Exchange.Client: M.D. Anderson Cancer CenterIndustry: HealthcareDeveloper on ClinicStation, an electronic medical records system built using a service-oriented architecture. The system supports 15,000+ users, including physicians and other medical staff, providing them with access to patient data from more than 40 back-end systems operating on a variety of disparate platforms.

My role as software developer included maintaining a drilling and well work information management system. This included versions of the application running in a central office and as well as hundreds of field instances running at local well sites. Redesigned data synchronization processes for optimization of transfers over satellite uplinks with high latency. I successfully led a small development team in an effort to develop a regulatory reporting application that automated the completion and management of drilling and well work forms used by oil and gas companies in 11 states.

Added new features to several core web applications, which included a case management system accessed internally by call center personnel as well as a self-service benefits management portal accessed externally by employees of Mercer’s clients. The system architecture was a hybrid of legacy n-tier with modern Service Oriented Architecture, involving a lot of COM interop code to allow newer parts of the system designed using Visual Studio .NET 2003 to communicate with older business logic residing in VB 6.0 COM+ libraries.

Client: Shell Trading North AmericaIndustry: Energy TradingDesigned and developed an intranet web portal from the ground up to facilitate information sharing across business units. Features of the web portal included announcements, document management, event calendars, external news feeds, image galleries, quick links, stock tickers, and advertisement banners. Industry: Direct Store DeliveryDeveloped web applications to manage settings and push updates to handheld devices running Windows CE and for cashiers to enter financial data from delivery routes. Maintained business logic for a proprietary data warehouse application which allowed end user's to generate customized reports for data mining and business intelligence. Maintained business logic for a legacy hand held computer application used by direct store delivery customers written using Microsoft Visual C.

Industry: Financial ServicesI was the fourth software developer hired and saw the company grow from less than 50 to more than 750 employees. During that time I became the second most senior developer and was promoted to leadership roles including Technical Lead and Project Manager. I planned, developed, deployed and maintained the company's most successful system used by a large call center performing compliance activities. In my leadership roles I managed the day to day activities of a software development team that included both full-time employees and contract consultants. This included providing mentoring, conducting technical project reviews, and making sure that ongoing status was effectively communicated to upper IT management and project sponsors. Received CEO award for "Outstanding Performance and Dedicated Service", October 1999.
