With over 12 million children and over 78 million adults suffering from obesity and poor nutritional habits, Eat Better Live Better is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to reducing those numbers one family at a time. Our program takes a hands on approach that will provide families with several skills and tools that are needed to create and maintain a nutritional diet plan while staying within their family’s budget. Poverty is a huge contributing factor to obesity. Unfortunately, families with lower income are pushed into low-cost meals such as fast food, frozen dinners and snacks filled with sugar and nutrition-less calories. Poverty stricken areas are saturated with advertisements and deals and discounts for foods that appear to be affordable, but are terrible for the health of the family. Most of these families are living paycheck to paycheck and have not had access to adequate nutritional education. If transitioning into a healthy lifestyle feels like an impossible task because the family doesn’t know where to start, they probably will continue along the same path. Our goal is to become the starting point to these families and start making a difference one family at a time. This organization will utilize a unique technique for every sponsored family that will simplify their transition into a healthy lifestyle and make it maintainable. We will provide each family with a customized nutritional blueprint that will include a nutritional plan, budget transference education, a personal shopper, a grocery voucher along with follow ups and perks.Additionally, we also have unique curricula for kids as young as 3 years old in daycare through high school and even college. These classes give kids a true understanding of nutrition and helps them become nutritionally self sufficient. Furthermore, we have a healthy advocacy workshop that teaches the community leaders, teachers and other community based organizations how to become healthy advocates as well.
