Hello everyone! My name is Eatha Lynch. I am a first-generation, undergraduate student majoring in biology at George Mason University (GMU). I am a fourth-year student, and I have completed a semester long internship with the Children's Science Center Lab. I have also completed a two-week study abroad program studying Kenyan ecology and landscapes in Kenya. Currently, I am attending the Smithsonian Mason School of Conservation program studying Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. I am heavily involved in the College of Science at GMU. I am in the process of completing a three-semester teaching practicum for the Biology Department in which I assist a professor with teaching and planning an introductory level biology course. I also work as a field interpreter for GMU. In this position, I help host field trips of seventh grade students in Fairfax County Public Schools. As a field interpreter, I translate environmental science content into engaging, hands-on outdoor field programs for thousands of seventh graders each year.When I am not busy with classes or specialized programs, I spend my time working at the Children's Science Center as an Animal Husbandry Assistant. There, I take care of exotic animals and complete daily maintenance for them (water bowls, diet preparation and distribution, enrichment, etc.).I love conservation and aim to become more involved in research/data collection.
