Responsible for leading the Project Management team tasked with a complex portfolio of projects. Tasks include monitoring departmental performance, formulation of Project Manager strategies including processes and operations, managing Project Manager team’s execution of projects and monitor progress, achieving and improving team targets and goals in productivity, efficiency, and quality by continuously assessing the current state of the department, making recommendations, and driving solutions. Develop partnerships internally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Support, and Project Management teams to deliver against goals. Oversee the development of project tracking/KPI dashboards and tools to support the PM team and individual Project KPI’s including scope, budget, and resources. Research best practices within and outside of the organization and incorporate them in daily operations. Implement efficient and effective facilitation of regular and highly visible PM governance mechanisms. Establish pathways for escalation of project issues within the organization to provide the right level of awareness and decision making. Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature the required capabilities for the organization. Mentor PM team to excel in leadership, critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, teamwork, collaboration, professionalism, work ethic, organization, and communication skills by growing and building competencies of the PM team through leadership and strategic guidance. Train, coach, and set expectations for all Project Managers to improve PM capabilities. Mentor PM team on processes and tasks with external stakeholders, addressing client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices.

Project management of municipal mining, and industrial projects focused on material handling including pumping solids, dewatering solids, storage solutions, and various other solutions unique to each project. Each project includes working with varying teams; working closely with sales, engineering, service, accounting, aftermarket support, owner, consultant, contractors, & end users through final acceptance of the equipment.

Projects worked on: design and field experience on Private, Municipal, Transportation, [Minnesota] State Aid, and Federal Aid Projects; including railroad quiet zones, traffic control, erosion control, watermain construction, sanitary sewer construction, storm water construction, bituminous pavement reclamation, site grading, bituminous paving, and concrete paving among various others fields. Duties performed during design; preliminary project reports, create drawings in AutoCAD C3D, quantity and cost estimations. Duties performed during construction inspection; daily progress tracking, communications with residents and business owners, materials acceptance oversight, and project closeout processes among various other daily activities.

Projects worked on: widen and replace of existing roadway. Performed construction inspection; traffic control, erosion control, soil work, culvert installations, reclamation of existing bituminous material, subgrade preparation, cement stabilization. Completed project tasks; project closeout, slope staking, general bookwork, N.C.R.s, pay quantity reports, daily inspector diaries/logs. Daily communication with contractors.

Performed pre-construction duties including: Surveys, blue topping, stationing. Projects worked on: Chip seal, blacktop resurfacing, bridge pour. Construction duties included: Taking tickets, calculating spread of oil/asphalt/chips to ensure project is in accordance with plans, concrete testing.
