High Court appointed representative for 400 investors in a failed finance company. Scope of work included recovery of funds through both sales of assets and recovery of loans, plus litigation. The final return to investors was 46.25 cents.

Established in 1994, Killarney Capital is a privately owned company specialising in property finance and bespoke private equity placement within New Zealand. I was bought onto the board for my expertise in credit assessment and deal structuring.

FX Networks owns and operates an inter-city fibre optic network spanning from Dunedin in the South to Whangarei in the North. They provide high speed Wide Area Network and ISP services to Government, Major Enterprises, Datacentres, Data Aggregators and Internet Service Providers. I advised FX Networks on a range of business strategies and capital raising initiatives.

Taupo Motorsport Park is New Zealand’s Premier motorsport and driver training facility as well as a specialist motor industry business centre . They are an international FIA category 2 race circuit and NZDRA certified drag strip. I was appointed to the board for my knowledge of property and infrastructure companies.

I assisted in the establishment and growth of McDouall Stuart Securities, a NZX firm, Hawke's Bay Office. I provided investment advice to a wide range of retail and institutional clients throughout New Zealand. Alongside strategic investment advice, I also advised companies on capital raising and NZX listings.

In my role as the Industry Chairman I was responsible for working with the Industry Executive Director to ensure that all issues relating to the sector are appropriately managed. This involved extensive liaison with Government Ministers, select committees and other MP‘s, Government officials and agencies dealing with a range of securities law, fund management and taxation issues.

Perpetual Trust is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pyne Gould Corporation. It is a national trustee and wealth solutions company operating in several sectors; private trusts, client accounting, financial planning, investment funds and corporate trusts. While I was CEO, Perpetual had offices in nine locations, employed 110 staff and was responsible for $12b of client assets. Perpetual’s corporate trust business involved the monitoring and supervision of $10b of funds on behalf of New Zealand investors. At a governance level I was involved in decisions for all clients due diligence as well as all judgements regarding client investment policy that were required.During my tenure as CEO, Perpetual owned 50% of one of the country’s largest mortgage broking businesses Mortgage Express, which has representatives throughout New Zealand employing approximately 40 people.

The two funds were special purpose funds formed to plant, grow and acquire high quality wood plantations with the objective of creating investor value of harvest and sale. The funds owned large scale forests situated in Otago, Southland and Gisborne.
