About Elizabeth Hawkins

Spending my entire career in the education arena, I have not only provided direct classroom instruction but have also led training and professional development, learning and development, technology modernization, LMS deployment, and more. In addition to 20+ years of experience, I am highly educated, earning dual undergraduate degrees, an MA in Education Curriculum and Classroom Instruction, and a Doctor of Education (ABD) in Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership.★ ★ ★Launching my career as a teacher, I worked in diverse high school settings, providing instruction in English, Theater, and Communication. Seeking increased connectivity to the success of at-risk students, I was ‘called’ to join the Ohio Department of Youth Services, where I spent 15+ years in administrative and Central Office leadership positions. Working with some of the most at-risk youth in the state, I committed years to driving change, leading learning and development initiatives, championing professional development for my educators, informing curriculum development, and steering technology adoption.★ ★ ★Throughout my tenure, I contributed to numerous committees, focused on identifying best practices, improving efficiencies and effectiveness, steering professional development and conference planning, and positioning educators with the tools and resources vital to driving learning objectives and student success. Given the district was reeling from a lawsuit, it was my role to close compliance gaps, elevate team-wide training and development, and dramatically transform the culture. Highly successful doing just that, in 2022 I made the decision to pursue new professional challenges as an educational administrator.★ ★ ★Over the course of the past two years, I have served as Lead Administrator / Principal for 2 rural Alaska schools. Once again, calling on my transformational leadership capabilities, I stepped into environments where continuous improvements were needed, communication and collaboration were lacking, and school communities were struggling to embrace their identity. Through active listening, thoughtful strategic planning, and L&D innovation, I created unprecedented connectivity between communities and cultures.
