--Provide leadership and management of WCS’s Grants Management and Compliance (GMC) unit, currently consisting of 8 personnel in three subunits focused on proposal development, knowledge and data management, and award compliance.--Serve as compliance expert for WCS’s public and multilateral donors, focusing on US federal assistance and acquisition awards from agencies including USAID, DOS, DOI, DOD, NSF, and others.--Oversee and contribute to the development of institutional policies, procedures, guidance, tools, and training materials related to proposal development, grants management and donor compliance.--Lead initiatives to improve proposal development, grants management, and compliance across WCS’s 13 regional programs, 5 thematic programs, and almost 60 country programs, as well as its cultural institutions in NYC.

--Provided strategic direction and leadership in building the Award Compliance team supporting WCS’s global operations, including continued supervision of the EU Compliance Manager and Subaward Compliance Manager and planning for two additional compliance positions.--Provided specialist expertise on compliance for US federal assistance and acquisition awards from almost 20 distinct federal donors including USAID, DOS, DOI, DOD, NSF, NOAA, and CDC. --Tracked changes to US federal regulations and laws to ensure they were integrated into compliance planning and training. --Led initiative to develop extensive intranet site featuring procedures, guidance, tools, and training on grants management and donor compliance.

--Identified critical gaps and key priorities for grants management and compliance within WCS’s global programs during a period of organization re-structuring.--Developed procedures and systems to improve award management and compliance.--Provided expertise on U.S. federal award compliance across all awarding agencies, while also acting in a supervisory role for all USAID and DOD acquisition award proposals. --Supervised and mentored colleagues in two new compliance positions focused on EU grant compliance and subaward management and monitoring.
