Eric and Adrienne started Eban's Bakehouse (formerly Eban Bakery) in September of 2011 in their one bedroom apartment in Columbus Ohio. Starting as a cottage industry and baking 4 loaves at a time in the home oven, Eric delivered the day's bread on the back of his Harley Davidson motorcycle while Adrienne maintained her full time job as a chef to support our household. Word traveled fast on how wonderful the products were and 1 account grew to 7 around the city within three months. Baking over 150 loaves a week out of our tiny apartment was no longer sustainable and a new location with a commercial kitchen was now needed.In 2012 Eban's leased a small kitchen in an 1860's Victorian house and started baking on a more efficient scale. A larger commercial oven and mixer provided a great boost in production and sales grew by 200% in 2012.2013 started off with a bang with increased sales from the previous year. With the purchase of another oven and more equipment for the bakery, Eban's was able to quadruple our production capabilities. The lease was adjusted to include the entire building for the growth in sales due to continued "word of mouth" exposure from farmers markets and accounts in Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus. Sales jumped by 200% again by the end of year 2013.2014 brought with it new branding with the name changing from Eban Bakery to Eban's Bakehouse. With the new trademarked name, new printed bread bags and cookie packaging, and a professional website (www.ebansbakehouse.com), the company has grown to 8 shifts a week and is almost at maximum production capabilities.Eban's Bakehouse's products have been picked up by PremiereProduceOne who will be acquiring accounts in Ohio, Sherwood Foods out of Cleveland is distributing to 65 Fresh Thyme Farmers Markets in 12 states and The Kroger Co. in the fall of 2017 will take us to twenty cities. For continued growth through these account we have expanded out facilities to 8000 sq ft.
