Eric Barbye earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore School of Pharmacy in 2014. He worked as a Clinical Pharmacist for Community Pharmacy in Salisbury, Maryland for five years prior to the store closing in 2019. Then, Eric spent a short time at Walgreens Pharmacy before accepting a position as a Staff/Clinical Pharmacist at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton. Currently, he serves as the Epic Willow Analyst for University of Maryland Shore Regional Health, which comprises two hospitals and two freestanding medical facilities on the Eastern Shore. In this role, he manages medication related records in Epic, the electronic medical record, including medication cost updates, formulary management, drug shortage management, order set maintenance, and clinical decision support. He also serves on the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee, Forms Committee, and the local Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee. He has presented to local and national audiences on the role of the pharmacist in emergency preparedness and response, and is an active pharmacist member of Maryland Responds, Maryland’s Medical Reserve Corps. In his spare time, Eric is a life member of Phi Delta Chi Pharmacy Fraternity and currently serves as their Assistant Executive Director. He is also a Director on the Board of Directors for the Maryland Pharmacists Association Foundation.
