I'm a writer and reporter specializing in sports journalism (by chance) and long-form writing (by choice). I'm also an award-winning sports columnist and the former sports editor of my college newspaper, where prior to becoming the sports editor I served in positions ranging from sports copy editor to blogger to assistant sports editor to occasional feature writer. I have the paper's logo, a blocky black 'a' for 'Alligator,' tattooed on my right forearm, which is always one go-to fact (along with my experience as a high school pole vaulter) when playing two truths and a lie. Gary Smith once wrote to me saying I "should really be proud" of a couple "GREAT" stories I sent him, which was undoubtedly the pinnacle of my writing career so far.
